Many organisations are challenged at how to best establish a successful governance strategy around their master data management efforts. It starts with the right individuals and attitude.

I think some of these steps can be expanded into steps themselves and therefore need a lot of time and thought to detail and break down. However this is a good starting point that can help to drive the areas you need to include in your strategy moving forward.

The article makes a number of great points and I have to agree with him. It all sounds great and sounds like an ideal set of systems to work on. I think this could give you the start of a blueprint of what needs to be in place for success.

A good list to review to see if there are any surprises to you in there - there were certainly a few new ones to me that I'm now going to work from and investigate them further.

Informatica Data Director, IBM Stewardship Center and Collibra Data Governance Center are among the top MDG picks from The MDM Institute.

These look good and we have no excuse for not dong this properly if we have a tool like these to help.  I only have direct experience of IDD which seemed ok.
